Three weeks ago, I visited Novorossiysk (a town in Russia, if it was not clear enough) for a day to see the beautiful seafront (pun not intended) with my mom. I had some KFC with a glamourous view to the town's port (their Pina Colada milkshake, well, was a milkshake (great), took a few photos and went back to my little suburban in a brainstorming 4-hour long train ride (also, strawberry-flavored water is so good that I drank half of the bottle in a split second).

I wanted to tell atleast someone about it, and just know I thought "Hey! Why not to ask finobe.net about it?"

Hence, tell me about your interesting, fun or insane travels! I am pretty sure no-one will be against it (as long as you'll be honest, of course)!

I visited Milan, Italy back in 2023 as part of an ''erasmus'' school project, and it was one of my favorite trips ever. Mostly the entirely different cityscape compared to the DEPRESSING atmosphere we have in eastern europe places (theres a reason Stalker is set in eastern europe/russia, the atmosphere is captured insanely well).

A lot of people say things like "Oh whats the point if i can just google it and look at pictures" (myself included lol), but travelling there yourself and seeing the TRUE scale of monuments/buildings really helps give you an idea just how big something is and why its praised by so many people, cause photographs really fail to capture that feeling of scale and depth most of the time.

Yeah, haha. I wish I could visit Europe and look at UK (mostly to see my best Internet friend here), but the Latvian visa department is currently giving me a huge middle finger over my only passport and my Latvian dad is apparently a foreign agent in his own home country. I won't be going in-depth due to the apolitical nature of this thread.

I am indeed also tired of seeing Khrushchev buildings literally everywhere I look at (unless if you live with the 90s Doomer aesthetic). But hey, Moscow is fixing that at the very least. Krasnodar (where I live at) is also modernizing very slowly too (Speaking of Stalker, I remember reading it's fanfics while I was in a mental hospital a year ago).

But I do agree that pictures are just not enough. Maybe VR could be a bit of a better experience?

Neither did I! Other than Novorossiysk, I only went to Anapa for a month back around in the early 10's (while today, it's in a pretty horrifying state, as I just heard). As of now, my parents do not have the expenses to travel anywhere, as we are in debt with materials for our future house (Hell, one day in Sochi would take 30% of our monthly wage). It constantly rains every now and then here in Krasnodar, and that does slow down the process.

Speaking of Georgia, the older part of my family does have a history with being there! Here in Russia, we do have Georgian culinary and I got to say, it's really underrated! I suggest people reading this to try it out! Their Khachapuri is an amazing alternative to Pizza!

VR helps a ton, yes... but the model youre looking at has to be accurate, ofc, but its not very accessible to people, unfortunately.

Those are one of the things i wish more people had access to: Travelling and VR, but some people just cant make enough money to afford neither and its a bit sad. I hope you get the opportunity to visit many more places in the future!

VR seems to be more accessible, though. I should consider getting it once I get a Video Editing gig.

Thank you! I would prefer to hang out in Moscow more, as it's where's all the fun at in Russia. Wish you were here!

Like 3 weeks ago I went on a school trip, went to a lot of scenic destinations and then got into a 4-hour traffic jam in Belgrade in like 35 degree heat, with no AC in the bus

Wonderful! I wish I could visit the Reunion Island, as it's nature is just magnificant!

Also, I am obsessed with their Eclairs! I would literally eat them non-stop, heh.
